The Deeper Learning Institute offers NY State initial certification in childhood grades 1–6 and students with disabilities, as well as a master’s in childhood and special education. We are obsessed with exquisite instruction and seeking candidates who are committed to working hard and continually improving.

The Deeper Learning Institute prepares teachers to educate children to become confident, critical thinkers. Like medical students in a teaching hospital, our graduate students learn through immersion in effective classrooms within the K-12 schools on our campus.

We believe that becoming a great teacher is not about acquiring a set of techniques to be copied and repeated. It’s about developing a deep understanding of learning theory, content knowledge, and pedagogical methods that can be applied in any instructional situation. That understanding comes at the intersection of observation, study, practice, reflection, and revision–all within the context of a collaborative learning community. Learn more.
