One place for work and study. Like medical students in a teaching hospital, DLI grad students learn through immersion in excellent K–12 classrooms right on campus, as well as through interacting with our vibrant learning community of graduate students, new teachers, experienced master teachers, graduate school faculty, and K–12 students.

A glorious brownstone. The Goldman-Sonnenfeldt Building, a beautiful renovated brownstone, features a student center, classrooms, study carrels, seminar spaces, faculty offices, an education library, and a lovely outdoor patio space for grad students to gather, rejuvenate, collaborate with colleagues, and meet with professors.

An ideal location. Located on 124th Street in the heart of Harlem, DLI is adjacent to several HVA schools, down the street from Marcus Garvey Park and the Harlem Public Library, and a few blocks from the Apollo Theater.  With the 2/3 train around the corner and the 6 train and Metro-North a short walk away, the whole city and its environs are right there for you to explore with your colleagues and students.
